Pitch & Grass Training Facility 2006-7
The club
are delighted to announce the first new developments of the
season. We have secured use of St Paul's College, Raheny for
home games and one training night a week which will be on
grass and under flood lights.
This
facility also includes dressing rooms and showers available
for both matches and training. Please note that both teams
will have equal use of the new facilities and that Pitch 32
in St Annes will be used for approximately half of all home
games for both teams.

Schalke
Seconds win divisional shield
Schalke
Rovers second team clinched the division 3B shield with an emphatic
three nil win over Green Bay Celtic at the AUL complex on
May 1st. Schalke controlled the game from the start and ran
out comfortable winners with goals from Jamie Downes, Mats Carney
and Rob Ranson. The path to the final of the competition was
a difficult one as the second team had to beat each of their
rivals in the top five of the division. Having also gained
promotion from division 3b, this win rounded off a season in
which the second team has made great progress.

Trip
to Barcelona 2006.
The trip to Barcelona was a roaring success with one notable exception - that being the inability
of the tournament 'organisers' to provide even vaguely accurate information re: match venues, kick off
times..etc. The upshot of all of this clownery was that we missed two of our three
appointed matches. In the one game we did make it to a late (some would say undeserved) goal from our french opponents resulted in us drawing the game one all.
The utter Jokeshop of a tournament aside, there was alot of mayhem and general acting the maggot - good clean fun with one or two exceptions! Having said that,
I think I speak for most of us when I say that if I never clap eyes on the Brit-tastic kip that is Lloret del mar again it'll be a billion years too soon. Roll on next year's trip to Kazakhstan - that's what I'm talkin' about chief!!
